Dailyish Privacy Policy
Effective date: 4 November 2026 App: Dailyish (Android and iOS) Developer: Dailyish Contact: hello@getdailyish.com
Dailyish helps you track daily habits: sun exposure, water, sleep, running, habits and supplements, and see how your friends are going. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and the choices you have.
The short version: Your logs are kept on your phone and backed up privately to your own account in the cloud so you don't lose them. Friends you add can see a small summary (your name, streak, goals hit and weekly score), never your weight, sleep times, location or log details. We do not run ads, use analytics, track you across apps or sell data.
1. Your account
When you first open Dailyish it creates an account for you automatically, without asking for any details. This lets your data be backed up and lets you add friends.
You can choose to add your email address to your account (Profile tab, then Account). We use it only to send you one-time sign-in codes, so you can get your account back on a new phone. We do not send marketing email.
2. Information you enter
When you use Dailyish you may enter:
- the name you want the app to call you
- weight, height and sex (used to estimate your daily water target)
- skin type and how much skin you usually have in the sun (used to estimate sun exposure)
- your daily logs: water, sun exposure time, sleep and wake times, runs, habits and supplements
- app settings, such as units, targets, theme and your mascot's name
This information is stored on your device and backed up privately to your Dailyish account (see section 4). Only you can access the backup. It is never shown to your friends.
3. What your friends can see
Friends are people who added your friend code, or whose code you added. They can see:
- your name and your mascot's name
- your current streak, best streak and number of perfect days
- how many of today's goals you've hit (for example "3 of 5")
- your weekly score (the number of daily goals hit this week)
Friends cannot see your weight, height, sex, sleep and wake times, location, water amounts, runs, habit names or supplements. You can remove a friend at any time from the Friends tab.
Friends can send you "nudges" and "high fives", which appear as notifications on your phone. They are limited to one of each per friend per hour.
4. Where data is stored
Dailyish uses Supabase (supabase.com) to run its cloud database and sign-in. The database is hosted in Sydney, Australia, so if you live elsewhere your data is transferred to and stored in Australia. Your account, friend list, the friend summary above, nudges and the private backup of your data are stored there. Access is protected by database security rules so that only you can read your private backup, and only you and your friends can read your friend summary. Supabase's handling of data is described in its own privacy policy.
5. Location
To show the current UV index and estimate how long to stay in the sun, Dailyish asks for permission to access your location while you are using the app.
- Your coordinates, rounded to about 100 metres, are sent to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a weather service, to fetch the UV forecast and temperature for your area.
- Your device's built-in geocoding service may be used to turn your coordinates into a place name shown in the app. On Android this service is provided by Google.
- Your location is not stored in your account or shared with friends.
You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your phone's settings. The sun features will then not have UV data.
6. Health Connect (Android, optional)
If you choose to connect Health Connect, Dailyish can read:
- sleep sessions (to fill in your sleep times)
- exercise sessions and distance (to add your runs)
Dailyish only reads this data. It never writes to Health Connect. The data is used only to fill in your logs inside the app, is included in your private backup like the rest of your logs, and is never shared with friends, used for advertising, or sold.
Dailyish's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke access at any time in the Health Connect app or in your phone's settings.
7. Notifications
Reminders (water nudges, sun timer alerts, sleep and streak reminders) are scheduled on your phone. Nudges and high fives from friends are delivered through our cloud database while the app is running.
8. Backup files
You can also create a backup file from the Profile tab. The file is created on your device, and you choose where it goes (for example Google Drive, email or your files). Once you save it somewhere, that service's own privacy terms apply.
9. App updates
Dailyish may download updates to its own code through Expo's update service (EAS Update). Like any download, this involves a request to Expo's servers, which may log technical information such as your IP address, device type and app version, as described in Expo's privacy policy. No personal data you have entered in the app is included in these requests.
10. What we don't do
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties beyond the services listed above
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone or camera
11. Children
Dailyish is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
12. Keeping or deleting your data
- Delete your account: Profile tab, then Delete account and data. This permanently deletes your account, friend list, friend summary, nudges and cloud backup, and erases the data on your phone.
- Can't open the app? Email us at the address above from the email linked to your account (or tell us your friend code) and we will delete your account.
- Remove a friend: Friends tab, tap the friend, then Remove friend.
- Revoke permissions: location, notifications and Health Connect can be turned off at any time in your phone's settings.
We keep your data only while your account exists.
13. Security
Data is sent to our cloud database over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected by database security rules. On your phone it is protected by your phone's own security (screen lock and app sandboxing). Keep any backup files you create somewhere you trust.
14. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, mention it in the app or its store listing.

Health Disclaimer
Dailyish provides general wellness information only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- All numbers are estimates. Sun exposure times, vitamin D targets, burn warnings, water targets, running targets and sleep guidance are based on published research averages and simple models. Your individual needs may be different.
- Sun exposure carries real risk. UV radiation can cause sunburn, skin damage and skin cancer. UV forecasts can be wrong, and clouds, reflection (water, sand, snow), altitude and sunscreen all change your actual exposure. Some medications (for example certain antibiotics, acne treatments and diuretics) and some medical conditions make skin much more sensitive to sun. Never rely on the app alone to avoid burning, and stop sun exposure at the first sign of redness.
- Vitamin D needs vary from person to person. Talk to a doctor before starting supplements or relying on sun exposure for vitamin D, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or take medication.
- Water needs depend on health, climate, activity and medical conditions. Some conditions (for example heart or kidney conditions) require limiting fluids. Follow your doctor's advice over the app.
- Exercise: check with a doctor before starting or increasing a running routine, especially if you have a heart condition, injury or other health concern. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.
- Sleep: if you have ongoing sleep problems, speak to a healthcare professional.
Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with any questions about a medical condition. Do not ignore professional advice or delay seeking it because of something in this app.
In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
By using Dailyish you accept that you use it at your own risk.
